It's helping with my cholesterol. No upset stomach.

If you're trying to lower your LDL before your doctor puts you on statins, you're probably already avoiding saturated fat whenever possible, and eating as much soluble fiber as you can. For those times when you know you're not going to be able to avoid saturated fat -- a celebration meal around meat or full fat dairy, etc. -- you take this at the same time as the meal and it binds up the cholesterol a bit.

Brought my LDL back into normal range without having to double my statin dose. Very pleased. Will continue to take 2 capsules with each meal.

I’m in the process of testing the supplement to see if it will lower my LDL number so I can avoid taking a statin. I will have another test in 3 months to see if it works. I have used pure Encapsulation products for a number of years and like and trust the integrity of their supplements.

My husband had to cut out gluten when he developed leaky gut and his cholesterol suddenly skyrocketed. We tried several things to get it to come back down but nothing seemed to make more than a 10-point difference or so. When his LDL hit 214, his doctor insisted on a statin. We really dug our heels in and refused - this product was recommended by someone else and nothing else had worked so we tried it, along with a whole food (nearly) vegetarian diet. Within a 4-month time span, his LDL has dropped to 141. Still not where it needs to be but amazing results in 4 months considering where he started. UPDATE: I've only been taking this product for several weeks, and my first cholesterol test came back slightly better than my physical, so my doctor thinks it's on the right track -- but he's not entirely convinced this supplement will be enough. So I can't report lowered cholesterol at this point. Per the instructions, I take two capsules with each meal -- which means I make sure to bring a small bottle with me when I eat out in restaurants or someone else's home. So far, no major side effects other than the expected fatty stool, which is common, according to research. In addition to digestive issues in the beginning (which has started to normalize) I've noticed a huge difference in my HAIR. It is much dryer, and more frizzy after using this supplement for several weeks. My hairstylist also noted the change, and this supplement is the only change I've made in recent months. I am concerned about my hair, and think the CholestePure is pulling the nutrients away from my hair. Hair needs cholesterol for body and health, so this is a likely explanation for the sudden dryness and brittle hair. For me, it's worth a try before taking prescription statins, along with diet and exercise changes. My doctor is willing to work with me on this. Pure Encapsulations is a quality brand -- and I've had great experience with other products in this line, so I feel I can trust the product. Will report back after my blood work.
